I saw this film twice last month, and am only now reviewing it. Avatar has a plot that is quaint but serviceable and characters who are generic but sincere. It also displays an amount of imagination and spectacle that is absolutely phenomenal. It is revolutionary filmmaking, is wildly enjoyable on repeated viewings, and has generally raised the bar so high that it’s almost in orbit. Don’t miss it.
Avatar has my absolute highest recommendation, especially on IMAX 3D.
