Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
“Pooh?” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s hand. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”

Super 8 →
Super 8 is an expert mix of Goonies, Gremlins, Stand By Me, filtered through the more recent Cloverfield. It strives to be peers with the 80’s Amblin films it’s drawing inspiration from, and it comes remarkably close.
The 80’s Amblin pictures were all about finding adventure in your own backyard, and how that adventure impacted the lives and relationships of some efficiently...

X-Men First Class →
For some reason I’ve always had a hard time connecting with the X-Men movies. I enjoy them in concept, but in execution they always leave me cold.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World →
This is the most fun I’ve had at the movies this year. Heartwarming in a uniquely vicious way, and a style that feels genuinely new and upbeat. It’s just one great idea after another, all wrapped around a great message.

Inception →
Inception is a 5-star, expertly crafted, and fantastically beautiful masterpiece of a heist movie containing layers and layers of intrigue and meaning. Sadly, it is wrapped in the kind of pop-philosophy common in smoke filled college dorms.
It felt as though the meta-story was added only to raise unanswered questions. But, as the movie takes pains to point out, Inception isn’t just about...
